Lazy Days

Procrastination is winning out in my quest to start painting the Su-27, Ar-234, and Me-262. It’s much easier to stay planted at my workbench tinkering with the remaining three builds. It’s a good thing too because the Mistel 5 is in the verge of being ready for paint as well. The three German kits have some of the same colors which will reduce my time at the airbrush.

The F-4 and the Sea Fury are moving along well. They still have a little ways to go before I can start paint.  I finally filled the F-4’s wing roots last night and I will give it a good sanding tonight. There are a few more seams from the wing installation to sand and some minor construction to finish before I can get comfortable.

The Sea Fury is stabilizing and I’m liking how the progress is going. The seams are finally finished and I started on the cowl last night. Like the F-4, there are the little aspects that need to be taken care of. I’ll focus on those tonight and hopefully it will be ready by the weekend.

  1. …that is!

My decal sheet is still drying out.
Waiting for the decal fixer to be applied.
Of course this hot and humid temperature is not helping.

      • If I was to build my first plane from a kit, which type of kit would you recommend? Because, I’ve always wanted to but I’m not super skilled with my wood, crafts, hand abilities.. any suggestions? Thank You!

      • Great.. also, this is not about airplane models. But, I am just starting my blog and I have a question about posting photos on your blog.. Do you know if I post photos I took myself, will they be WordPress’ property? or will they become open for anyone to use as they wish? I’m just a little worried about posting my own photos.
I know this isn’t related to your blog exactly, but I saw you have posted a TON of pictures so I thought you would be the best to ask!! Thank You! 😀

      • I’m not too sure about that. I’m sure there is a legal disclaimer when you sign up. If you do WordPress premium it might be different. If your photos are copyrighted then you should be ok.

  2. I am impressed, to say the least. I remember building these models (along with the balsa wood variety). I had a difficult enough time working on one at a time, let alone four or five. Very nice work, glad to have crossed paths with your art!
